Chipotle yesterday announced its latest partnership with TEKKEN 8, the newest release in the iconic fighting game series from Bandai Namco Entertainment American Inc.
As part of the partnership Chipotle is launching a new digital exclusive menu item inspired by and for TEKKEN fans, the TEKKEN 8 Battle Bowl, as well as giving players the chance to earn in-game currency through digital entrée purchases made on the Chipotle app and online at Chipotle.com.
TEKKEN 8 players can start earning premium in-game currency now when ordering through the brand’s mobile app or website and using the promo code “EWGF623” while supplies last. In tribute to the TEKKEN fan base, the sequence EWGF623 is a respectful acknowledgment of the famous “Electric Wind God Fist” technique.
With every eligible purchase made, participants will be given a code redeemable for 500 TEKKEN COINS, available as long as inventory lasts, enabling them to acquire a range of outfits and accessories within the official TEKKEN 8 virtual store. Furthermore, Chipotle Rewards members also have the opportunity to redeem 250 points at the Chipotle Rewards Exchange for an extra code, granting them another 500 TEKKEN COINS. The TEKKEN 8 Battle Bowl
At the TEKKEN World Tour Finals in January, TEKKEN gave its fans on X the chance to select the ingredients they believed deserved to be included in Chipotle’s first official menu item inspired by Bandai Namco’s iconic fighting game. Following over 38,000 votes, TEKKEN fans were finally able to put together a burrito bowl order that will surely be as legendary as the game itself.
Available exclusively on the Chipotle app and Chipotle.com for a limited time, The TEKKEN 8 Battle Bowl features chicken, black beans, white rice, cheese, roasted chili-corn salsa, fresh tomato salsa, fajita veggies, and guac.
Chipotle Challenger Series
The 2024 Chipotle Challenger Series, Chipotle’s flagship esports event, will team up with Sony Interactive Entertainment to spotlight TEKKEN 8 as the main competition game. This marks the inaugural branded tournament to be held on the PlayStation Tournaments platform. The climax of the series, the Grand Finals, is set to be streamed live on PlayStation esports’ Twitch and YouTube channels on Saturday, May 4.
Every qualified participant in the Chipotle Challenger Series will be rewarded with complimentary chips and guac from Chipotle. The duo emerging victorious in the Grand Finals of the Chipotle Challenger Series will win free Chipotle for an entire year, a trip to Evo 2024 in Las Vegas, and a portion of the $20,000 USD cash prize pool, among other prizes.
