Chipotle Testing New Plant-Based Chorizo At Select Locations

Chipotle looks to step up its vegan game with a test of new Plant-Based Chorizo at select locations in Denver and Indianapolis.

The new Plant-Based Chorizo, which was created in-house by Chipotle’s culinary team, is made with fresh ingredients grown in a farm and not in a lab. More specifically, it consists of a blend of Ancho Chili and Chipotle peppers, ripe tomato paste, crushed garlic, Spanish smoked paprika, and Extra Virgin Olive Oil combined with natural protein sourced from freshly grown peas.

Free from artificial flavors, colors, and preservatives, and made without grains, gluten, or soy, the chain’s new Plant-Based Chorizo is certified vegan and packs 20 grams of protein per serving, making it a great choice for fans committed to the meatless lifestyle or for those who are just looking to add more plant-based options to their diet.

Chipotle’s vegan chorizo is the chain’s first new plant-based protein option since the introduction of Sofritas in 2014.

To celebrate the launch, Chipotle is offering free delivery on all Plant-Based Chorizo orders via the brand’s app and online at Chipotle.com through August 29, 2021.

Will you be trying out Chipotle’s Plant-Based Chorizo? Would you like to see this rolled out nationally? Let us know what you think down in the comments.
