Chipotle to Give Away Up to 17,500 Entrees During the 2024 NBA Finals as Part of New ‘Free Throws, Free Codes’ Promotion

Chipotle today announced the launch of its new “Free Throws, Free Codes” promotion ahead of the 2024 NBA Finals.

As part of this promotion, Chipotle will give away up to 17,500 free entrees per game. The first 500 fans to text the designated code, which will be dropped each game on X (formerly Twitter), to 888222 will receive a free entree, no questions asked.

How Does It Work?

1. During the 2024 men’s professional basketball championship series, if a player successfully sinks all their free throws, Chipotle will drop a special text-to-claim code on social media. More specifically, this code will be shared through a tweet from @ChipotleTweets on X.

            Examples:

            • A player is fouled during a two-point attempt and successfully makes both free throws.
            • A player is fouled while shooting a three-pointer and nails all three free throws.
            • A player is fouled after making a basket (either a two-pointer or three-pointer) and sinks the additional free throw for the “and 1” opportunity.
            • A player converts the single free throw awarded after a technical foul against the opponent.
            • A player hits both free throws following a flagrant foul assessed to the opposing team.

            2. As mentioned above, the first 500 fans who text the designated code to 888222 will receive a code for a free entrée from Chipotle. The brand plans to give away up to 17,500 free entrees per game. Standard text and data rates will apply.

The “Free Throws, Free Codes” promotion builds on last year’s “Freepointer” campaign, which offered free entrée codes for made three-pointers.
