Inspired by the cultural traditions of the chain’s Mexican roots, El Pollo Loco is bringing back their popular Holiday Tamale Bowls as part of its new 2020 holiday menu.
This time around, they’re available in three varieties, two of which are completely new: Double Tamale Bowl, Crispy Tamale and Tinga Bowl, and Double Loaded Queso Tamale Bowl.
The Double Tamale Bowl comes with two Red Chile Chicken Tamales served on a bed of rice and beans and topped with enchilada sauce, slices of Hass avocado, locally sourced queso fresco, and cilantro.
New Crispy Tamale and Tinga Bowl features a Chicken Tamale served over a bed of rice and beans and finished with creamy queso blanco, slices of Hass avocado, and chicken tinga.
New Double Loaded Queso Tamale Bowl includes a Red Chile Chicken Tamale and chopped chicken pieces served over a bed of rice and beans and finished with creamy queso blanco, guacamole, and pico de gallo salsa.
Both the Crispy Tamale & Chicken Tinga Bowl and the Loaded Chicken Queso Tamale Bowl carry a suggested price of $6.99 each, while the Double Tamale Avocado Bowl goes for $7.49. Prices may vary by location.
Holiday Tamale Bowls are available now at participating El Pollo Loco restaurants nationwide for a limited time.
