Hardee’s has announced it will begin testing new menu items made with Beyond Meat’s vegan patty and sausage at select locations beginning October 28, 2019.
The chain’s new plant-based options include a Beyond Meat Thickburger and a Beyond Sausage Breakfast Biscuit Sandwich.
The new Beyond Meat menu items are essentially meat-free versions of some of the chain’s most popular products, the Original Thickburger and the Sausage Biscuit.
Bloomberg says that the burgers and sausages are made exclusively for Hardee’s and can’t be found anywhere else. And once they’re available, you’ll only be able to find them in two of Hardee’s largest markets this fall.
Customers can make the Beyond Meat Thickburger entirely vegan by ordering it without cheese and mayonnaise. But just keep in mind that Hardee’s makes its burgers in kitchens used to prepare animal-based products and byproducts, so their new plant-based menu items will probably not be certified vegan.
The Original Beyond Thickburger carries a suggested price of $5.99, while the Beyond Breakfast Sausage Biscuit goes for $2.99.
Both items will be available at participating locations in Raleigh, NC and Kansas City, MO starting October 16, 2019. Price and participation may vary.
