Jack In The Box Is Testing New Birria Grilled Cheese Sandwiches At Select Locations In Texas

Jack in the Box looks to put a Mexican twist on a classic American comfort food with a test of new Birria Grilled Cheese sandwiches at select locations across Texas.

Jack in the Box’s new Birria Grilled Cheese sandwich consists of seasoned, shredded beef birria layered with two slices of American cheese on toasted sourdough bread and served with a side of savory birria sauce for dipping.

Some locations are also testing a Double Birria Grilled Cheese sandwich that features a double portion of seasoned, shredded beef birria and with four slices of American cheese, all sandwiched between three slices of toasted sourdough bread (a la Big Mac) and served with a side of savory birria sauce for dipping.

The single Birria Grilled Cheese sandwich is priced at $5, while the Double Birria Grilled Cheese sandwich goes for $9. Both sandwiches are also available in a combo meal that includes a side of fries and a fountain drink.

Birria Grilled Cheese sandwiches are available at select test locations across the US-Mexico border in Texas for a limited time.

  1. Weird that they call them “Grilled Chicken Cheese” when there’s no chicken in them, unless that’s a typo in the title?

I hope they do well in the test market, Marie Callender’s did a Grilled Cheese Pot Roast Dip sandwich several years ago that was excellent
