KFC just announced that it will once again be pairing the unexpected for the introduction of the international smash hit, Chizza (“cheet-za”), at participating locations across the US beginning February 26, 2024.
KFC’s Chizza consists of two 100 percent white meat Extra Crispy fried chicken fillets topped with zesty marinara sauce, melted mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni.
The Chizza was first introduced in the Philippines back in 2015 and since then the exclusive menu item has made its way around the world to Germany, India, Korea, Mexico, Taiwan, Thailand and Spain, among other countries. Now, and for the first time, fans can experience the global phenomenon here in the US.
To celebrate its US launch, KFC will be transforming its restaurant location at 242 E 14th St. in New York City – the pizza capital of the US – into a one-of-a-kind “Chizzeria” pop-up where guests will get to enjoy Chizza before anyone else for free. The KFC Chizzeria will offer one menu item only, hot and fresh Chizza, in a KFC-ified, modern take on a classic pizzeria. The world’s first Chizzeria will open its doors for a limited time from Friday, February 23 through February 24 (1-9 p.m. ET). But fret not, Chizza will hit menus nationwide starting Monday, Feb. 26.
Also returning to KFC restaurant menus nationwide for a limited time is the Blackberry Lemonade, which is a fruity and tart drink perfect to refresh your taste buds while enjoying the Chizza combo meal.
It sounds good, but that pepperoni looks nasty, like it’s turkey based
