McDonald’s today announced an expanded national partnership with Krispy Kreme to offer fresh, melt-in-your-mouth doughnuts daily at participating locations across the country.
According to an announcement by the company, Krispy Kreme doughnuts will start popping up on menus in the U.S. later this year as part of a phased rollout that will see the baked treats added to restaurants nationwide by the end of 2026.
Three fan-favorite donut varieties will be delivered fresh to McDonald’s locations every day. They can be enjoyed individually or in 6-count boxes all day long, from breakfast till dinner, while supplies last:
- The Original Glazed Doughnut: A fresh, pillowy donut covered in Krispy Kreme’s signature glaze.
- The Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles Doughnut: A chocolatey take on the original, dipped in sweet chocolate icing and topped with rainbow sprinkles.
- The Chocolate Iced Kreme Filled Doughnut: A light, fluffy donut filled with a smooth Kreme and then dipped in chocolate icing.
The expanded national partnership comes after a successful test at 160 McDonald’s locations in the Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky areas, where consumer demand for Krispy Kreme donuts far exceeded expectations. These pilot restaurants will continue to sell the baked goods during the rollout phase.
To celebrate the expanded partnership, Krispy Kreme is offering one free Original Glazed Doughnut to fans who visit US Krispy Kreme shops between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM today, Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
Krispy Kreme is expanding its operations, equipping its infrastructure, enhancing its team capabilities, incorporating advanced technology and machinery, and improving onsite training to facilitate its ‘Delivered Fresh Daily’ expansion, which, as mentioned above, will unfold in stages.
In the upcoming months, Krispy Kreme and McDonald’s will share further information about the national rollout. Prepare to indulge as these scrumptious delights arrive at a McDonald’s near you in the near future.
