The Fast Food Post has learned that Taco Bell fans may have something to look forward to this summer as the fast-food chain appears to be gearing up to introduce a previously tested menu item, the Street Chalupa, in the coming weeks.
This revelation came to us via a press release announcing DoorDash’s fifth-annual Summer of DashPass savings event, which offers members five weeks filled with exclusive deals and prizes, including an $8 discount on orders of $25 or more that include at least one of the brand’s new Street Chalupas.
The $8 off deal will be available during Summer’s Final Splash, which is scheduled to run from July 18 through July 24, 2024, suggesting that the new item is on track to hit menus by that time. Although the official launch date remains undisclosed, the promotion’s timing hints at the imminent arrival of the Street Chalupa at Taco Bell outlets nationwide this summer.
The Street Chalupa consists of a blend of melted mozzarella and pepper Jack cheeses layered between two crunchy Chalupa shells and then stuffed with either shredded chicken or grilled marinated steak, plus jalapeño ranch sauce, diced onions, and cilantro.
It’s worth noting that they were calling it “Cheesy Street Chalupa” during the testing phase back in October 2023. It cost between $5.49 and $5.99, varying with location.
Are you excited about the possible launch of the Street Chalupa at Taco Bell this summer? Will you be trying it out if it becomes available on menus nationwide?
