Taco Bell Testing New Naked Chalupa With A Crispy Plant-Based Shell

Taco Bell looks to disrupt the vegetarian space, as well as the chicken sandwich wars by testing out a Naked Chalupa with a Crispy Plant-Based Shell at one select location in Irvine, California.

In an effort to reinvent its own game-changing Naked Chicken Chalupa, the iconic item’s newest specialty shell is made from a pea protein-based proprietary blend that is breaded and shaped into the unique Chalupa form and then crisped to order.

Just like the traditional Naked Chicken Chalupa, its vegetarian counterpart, the Naked Chalupa with a Crispy Plant-Based Shell, is filled with lettuce, cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes and avocado ranch sauce.

Additionally, fans also have the option to customize their order to remove ingredients containing dairy or egg to make the Naked Chalupa with a Crispy Plant-Based Shell completely vegan.

Priced at $3.49, the Naked Chalupa with a Crispy Plant-Based Shell is available at only one Taco Bell location (2222 Barranca Pkwy, Irvine, California) until June 27, 2021, while supplies last.

What do you think of the new Naked Chalupa with a Crispy Plant-Based Shell? Would you like to see this released nationwide? Let us know down in the comments.
