The Enchirito Is Coming Back To Taco Bell For A Limited Time

17

Fans voted and the results are in. Taco Bell today announced that the Enchirito will be making a comeback to menus nationwide before the end of the year.

One of the first menu innovations that demonstrated the brand’s drive for Mexican-inspired fusion, the Enchirito features a soft flour tortilla, loaded up with seasoned beef, beans and diced onions all rolled up and smothered with its classic red sauce before being covered with melted shredded cheddar cheese.

An official return date hasn’t been announced yet, but we’ll keep you updated as soon as we get more information. In the meantime, make sure to sign up for the chain’s email list to stay updated on its return.

The Enchirito will be brought back for a limited time and while supplies last to participating US locations at a time and duration to be determined by Taco Bell.

Taco Bell’s Enchirito was last seen on the menu in 2013 and was first introduced in 1970.

Update: It’s official! The Enchirito will be available at participating locations across the country from November 17 through November 30, 2022.

  1. I worked there in tue early 80s, you guys are going to have to actually put some cheese on this or it won’t be as good.

  2. The double decker should have never left! It’s just refried beans with a tortilla wrap. Taco Bell has and will always be known as “stoner food” it will NEVER be known as authentic Mexican and they just need to get their heads out of their asses and embrace it. Just stop trying to reinvent the wheel and give us what we want!

  3. The new Mexican pizza is no good. Not the same crust or taste. Sorry taco bell. I used to love them. I’m looking forward to the return of the enchirito tho.

  4. I could not agree more!!! The double Decker was my all time fav back when Michael Jordan was pushing it. Oh the good ole days ..

  5. See thats whats wrong with these fast food chains. Can’t leave well enough alone. Some of these menu items are what kept the chain alive. Myself haven’t eaten at Taco Bell since they ditched the Enchirito. Now only to bring it back for just a short time, absurd!

  6. In 1970, the Enchirito was KING ! I’m glad to see it come back by popular demand. Only PLEASE put the 3 sliced black olives on top . In 1970 I was a Senior in HS in Phoenix AZ, … after the Friday dances we’d all load up and go to Taco Bell … Enchiritos all around !!! They were great !!!

  7. I’ve been getting the enchirito for years since being taken off the menu. It’s one of several different items on Taco Bell’s hidden menu. Check it online.

  8. Glad it’s coming back. I’m 45. I don’t remember it being a corn tortilla. I ate them from the mid 90s to about 2016 or. I hate black olives and would just flick them off. It was best with extra cheese and extra sauce.
To EVERYONE that says it’s a secret item. PROVE IT or quit saying it. It has been old for AWHILE. Show me a dated receipt, give me an address amd phone number and I will fly to your town and order 2 for me and 2 for you and deliver them. It has not been a secret menu item for A LONG time. So Ray and everyone else, quit just saying it and prove it.

  9. Huge fail. I couldn’t wait for the enchirito to come back. It was so disappointing.

    No olives.
    They forgot the onions.
    Huge wasteful plastic container.
Small serving. It’s basically a $0.79 burrito that they $3 more
    $3.79?!?! See “small serving” above

I’m so lucky that my wife can make enchiritos at home that are so much better…and .. Wait for it… At home we can use del scorcho sauce!

We don’t eat fast food but I had to go back for the enchirito. We won’t be returning to Taco Bell, ever.
