Better known for its signature sandwich, chicken fingers and wings, Zaxby’s is adding seafood to its menu for the very first time in its 30-plus year history.
Zaxby’s announced Thursday it’s introducing new Southern Fried Shrimp along with a new Zaxtail Sauce that can be added to any meal for a suggested price of $3.
Zaxby’s Southern Fried Shrimp features butterflied shrimp breaded with garlic and onion powder, generously seasoned with pepper and buttermilk, and deep-fried until perfectly crispy and golden.
Southern Fried Shrimp can be enjoyed as a meal or as a standalone side served with Zaxtail Sauce, the newest addition to the chain’s portfolio of 12 signature sauces. With the addition of the zesty Zaxtail Sauce, Zaxby’s is further distinguishing itself from competitors by putting a delicious new seaside twist on a classic fan-favorite seafood dish.
Each Southern Fried Shrimp Meal comes with eight crispy butterflied shrimp, paired with Zaxtail Sauce, Texas Crinkle Fries, and a small drink. Fans can also order a side of four Southern Fried Shrimp and Zaxtail Sauce, which, as mentioned above, can be included in any meal for an extra $3.
To attract fans to sample the new offering, Zaxby’s is running a new limited-time deal where anyone score a free side of four Southern Fried Shrimp with any $5 minimum purchase from March 25 through March 31, 2024. The offer can be redeemed by ordering through your Zax Rewardz account online, in-app, or by scanning the QR code in-restaurant.
