Much to fans’ dismay, Chick-fil-A has announced that it’s removing their popular Side Salad from menus nationwide starting next month.
The upcoming menu change was first revealed on March 20 via a flyer on Chick-fil-A’s Tifton Georgia Facebook page that said, “We are spring cleaning here at Chick-fil-A and taking this opportunity to refresh our menu. The side salad’s last day will be April 1.”
Chick-fil-A’s Seguin Road location in Texas later confirmed the news on Twitter by issuing a statement that read, “Starting April 3, the Side Salad will no longer be offered on the Chick-fil-A menu. We want to continue providing you with quality food and service. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
We reached out to Chick-fil-A, and a spokesperson told The Fast Food Post that they are, in fact, discontinuing the Side Salad and replacing it with the Kale Crunch Side beginning April 3, 2023.
In short, to make up for this unexpected menu change, Chick-fil-A is increasing the size of its Kale Crunch Side to a large so it can join the brand’s current lineup of salad entrees, which also includes the Cobb Salad, Market Salad, and Spicy Southwest Salad.
For those unfamiliar, the Side Salad features a fresh bed of mixed greens, topped with a blend of shredded Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheeses and grape tomatoes, and served with charred tomato, crispy red bell peppers and a choice of dressing.
The Kale Crunch, on the other hand, features a blend of Curly Kale and Green Cabbage tossed with an Apple Cider and Dijon Mustard vinaigrette and topped off with salted, crunchy Roasted Almonds.
So if you’re a fan of Chick-fil-A’s Side Salad, go and get it while you still can!
