KFC has finally jumped onto the Beyond Meat bandwagon and has announced that it will begin testing their new plant-based Beyond Fried Chicken Nuggets and Boneless Wings at one location in Atlanta beginning Tuesday, August 27, 2019.
KFC’s Beyond Chicken will be available in the chain’s Cobb Parkway location in Atlanta. Customers can try the new plant-based option, which as mentioned above, is available in nuggets or wings, and comes tossed in your choice of one of three sauces: Nashville Hot, Honey BBQ or Buffalo.
Fans who want to be among the first to try KFC’s new Beyond Fried Chicken are welcomed to stop by the Cobb Parkway restaurant at 2637 Cobb Parkway SE in Smyrna, Georgia on Tuesday for a complimentary sample of Beyond Fried Chicken Nuggets or Boneless Wings from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. with the purchase of any KFC menu item, while supplies last.
The chain will also allow customers to get the new plant-based fried chicken as part of a meal. Nuggets come in 6- or 12-piece combo meals which include a medium drink and a side for $6.49 and $8.49, respectively. You can also get four vegan nuggets a la carte for a suggested price of $1.99. And the Boneless Wings will be available in 6- or 12-piece options for $6 and $12 each, respectively.
According to a press release, KFC’s “Beyond Fried Chicken is so delicious, our customers will find it difficult to tell that it’s plant-based.”
Kevin Hochman, president and chief concept officer of KFC U.S. said, “customers are going to be amazed because it really tastes like Kentucky Fried Chicken!”
With this move, KFC becomes the first national fast-food chain to offer plant-based chicken in the United States.
