McDonald’s is celebrating grandmothers everywhere with the introduction of the new Grandma McFlurry.

McDonald’s holds a special place where beloved memories are created alongside grandma. Whether surprising us with an unexpected soft serve or allowing us to indulge in dessert before the meal, grandmothers have a unique way of making us feel extraordinary. Now it’s time to honor her. Fans are welcomed to commemorate grandma and relive those treasured moments this summer by enjoying the Grandma McFlurry–launching on May 21 for a limited time.

The limited-edition Grandma McFlurry features what they’re describing as a “delicious sweet syrup” and chopped, crunchy candy pieces blended into the brand’s signature vanilla soft serve. It’s the ideal indulgence to enjoy with your grandmother or the special maternal figure in your life.

To honor the launch of the new McFlurry, McDonald’s has also joined forces with two innovative musicians to reimagine popular songs for the event, giving old classics a fresh twist. Singer-songwriter Remi Wolf is putting her own spin on the timeless track “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You),” set to be released on all music platforms on May 21. Additionally, two-time Latin GRAMMY nominee and Puerto Rican sensation Jay Wheeler is crafting a new rendition of the iconic Latin song “Piel Canela.”

To spark the festivities, McDonald’s is introducing Grandma’s McFlurry Mobile–a unique twist on the classic ice cream truck experience–providing a complimentary sneak peek of the upcoming Grandma McFlurry before its official launch in stores. Keep an ear out for the recognizable McDonald’s tune emanating from the speakers as the ice cream truck meanders through the city streets.

During Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18, Grandma’s McFlurry Mobile will be visiting various locations across New York City, such as senior centers and assisted living facilities, to foster additional opportunities for interaction among grandparents–a demographic that frequently grapples with isolation–and their loved ones.

  • Friday, May 17 – 1 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. EST: Herald Square – 104 W 35th St, New York, NY 10018 (On the corner of W 34th St. and Broadway)
  • Saturday, May 18 – Grandma’s ice cream truck will be making stops at senior centers and assisted living homes in East Harlem from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. and Flushing from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m EST.

You can find the new Grandma McFlurry at participating McDonald’s locations nationwide for a limited time beginning May 21, 2024, while supplies last. Prices may vary.
