In an effort to please fans looking for exciting new tastes and plant-based options, McDonald’s reveals the new McPlant Burger and a brand new Crispy Chicken Sandwich that will surely be a worthy contender in the chicken sandwich ring.
The McPlant Burger features a juicy, plant-based patty served on a warm, sesame seed bun with all the classic toppings. Crafted for McDonald’s, by McDonald’s, and with the kind of craveable flavors fans love, the McPlant is able to deliver the chain’s iconic taste in a “sink-your-teeth-in kind of sandwich.”
According to Ian Borden, President of McDonald’s International, the chain has “created a delicious burger that will be the first menu option in a plant-based platform.”
Described as “simple, but fantastic,” the new Crispy Chicken Sandwich consists of a crispy chicken fillet, topped with crinkle cut pickles and butter on a toasted potato roll.
Additionally, McDonald’s says that they will also offer more great tasting and affordable coffee options that will be available anytime of the day or night through the Drive Thru or at a McCafé counter.
McDonald’s says the new Crispy Chicken Sandwich will hit menus nationwide in 2021, while the McPlant can be adopted by individual markets when they’re ready. McDonald’s expects some locations to start testing the new plant-based burger next year.
