McDonald’s is partnering with Kerwin Frost to offer fans a fresh new take on a classic unboxing experience with the launch of the new Kerwin Frost Box beginning December 11, 2023.
The Kerwin Frost Box & McNugget Buddy Collectibles
The new Kerwin Frost Box will include your choice of 10-piece Chicken McNuggets or a Big Mac, World Famous Fries, a soft drink, and a special McNugget Buddy collectible – returning for the first time in over 25 years.
Growing up in Harlem, NY, Kerwin always saw his McNugget Buddies as a source of creative inspiration. So, it was just right for the fast-food restaurant chain to bring back the iconic Buddies, and through them, introduce McDonald’s fans to “Frost Way” – where everyone is welcome exactly as they are. Complete with mix-and-match outfits, the Buddies’ designs are inspired by Frost’s childhood experiences and belief that everyone should be able (and feel free) to express themselves.
Here’s a look at the McNugget Buddies:
- Kerwin Frost: The Mayor of Frost Way is a true champion of the McNugget Buddies and encourages them to be themselves. In his free time, you can catch him new pieces to his art collection or fixing things around his neighborhood.
- Don Bernice: The Wise Stylist is a renowned fashion designer who creates all the outfits for the McNugget Buddies in Frost Way, while offering stern advice at the same time.
- Uptown Moe: Known for giving the best motivational speeches, Uptown Moe is considered the Neighborhood Hero, the no-nonsense, street-smart and supportive guy from around the block everyone knows and loves.
- Waffutu: Born and raised in Frost Way by the whole neighborhood, Waffutu is the Curious Optimist that spreads positivity wherever she goes and can turn any frown upside down with the wave of a wand and the tilt of a crown.
- BRRRICK: The Cool Guy, the most adventurous Buddy in Frost Way who speaks in puns, loves trying new things and techno music. He’s discreetly nervous, but always cool under pressure.
- Darla: The Dreamer, a soft-spoken yet confident singer who moved to Frost Way to become a superstar as the lead singer of “The Frostettos.” She also runs the local McDonald’s in Frost Way – where she’s employee of the month every month!
The McNugget Buddies were first introduced back in 1988 as part of a limited edition Happy Meal that featured ten different McNugget Buddy collectibles. They are best known for their wacky adventures and personalities, wild imaginations and interchangeable outfits.
McNugget Merch to Match
The duo is also dropping a custom McDonald’s x Kerwin Frost merch collection that includes a variety of items featuring the McNugget Buddies, as well as iconic vintage pieces from Frost’s own archive. Additionally, McDonald’s x Kerwin Frost are releasing a first-of-its-kind new footwear silhouette with the Fry Guy shoes (as seen on the Kerwin Frost McNugget Buddy).
