After a successful test at select locations in North and South Carolina back in September 2021, Panera is taking its new handcrafted Chef’s Chicken Sandwiches nationwide starting March 30, 2022.
In an effort to redefine the traditional chicken sandwich, Panera Chefs took a quarter pound 100% all-white meat chicken breast filet and marinated it in a rich chicken broth and then seasoned it with the brand’s signature spice blend. Each filet is topped with a crunchy topping, either parmesan crisps or spicy, crispy pickle chips, and signature garlic aioli sauce, all stacked between a buttery brioche roll – designed to deliver a chef’s kiss with each bite. Panera’s new Chef’s Chicken Sandwiches are made with chicken raised without antibiotics, and clean ingredients, so you can rest assured they do not contain artificial preservatives, sweeteners, flavors, and colors from artificial sources.
Chef’s Chicken Sandwiches come in two varieties: The Signature Take and The Spicy Take.
The Signature Take Chef’s Chicken Sandwich features a chicken breast filet topped with a new proprietary garlic aioli sauce, which is made with Extra Virgin Olive Oil, garlic, and a secret blend of spices, and savory parmesan crisps for additional crunch and flavor. Finally, the sandwich is topped with leafy emerald greens for an element of freshness all built on Panera’s lightly sweet and hearty brioche roll made with real butter.
The Spicy Take Chef’s Chicken Sandwich features a chicken breast filet with spicy, crispy pickle chips and signature garlic aioli for an added and unexpected layer of bold crunch and spice. The Spicy Take chicken breast filet is then topped with Spicy Buffalo Sauce – a rich wing sauce flavor made with ingredients like aged red cayenne pepper and roasted garlic balanced with subtle notes of sweet honey and molasses – and served on a brioche roll.

The new sandwiches will start rolling out in select markets this week, and will be available at Panera cafes across the country and on the Panera app beginning March 30. Prices may vary, but you can expect to pay around $10.99 for a full sandwich.
