Chick-fil-A is backpedaling on plans to drop its popular Side Salad from menus following customer feedback.
Priced at $4.39 (may vary) and featuring a combination of simple ingredients, including mixed greens, charred tomato, red bell peppers, shredded Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheeses, and grape tomatoes, the Side Salad was slated to be removed from menus at all locations nationwide by April 3, 2023.
The move, which was announced just last week, was intended as a way to both simply its menu and make way for newer offerings like the new Cauliflower Sandwich, which is currently being tested at select locations in Denver, CO; Charleston, SC; and Greensboro-Triad, NC.
At one point, the Atlanta-based fast-food chicken chain was even handing out cards, notifying customers ordering the Side Salad about the upcoming menu change.
Needless to say, the news was met with outrage on social media, with one person writing, “Why would they remove the one healthy thing in the restaurant?” and another saying, “That’s the only healthy side option I eat,” and a third adding in response, “no more Chick-fil-A for me.”
Based on all this feedback, Chick-fil-A said in a blog post that they’ve chosen to continue serving the Side Salad, and that they are thrilled that fans can continue enjoying this menu item at participating locations.
With that said, you can pair the Side Salad with the brand’s Watermelon Mint Lemonade, which, after a six-year hiatus, is finally returning to menus by popular demand, just in time for spring. The Watermelon Mint Lemonade will be joined by three new options, including the new Watermelon Mint Sunjoy, Frosted Watermelon Mint Lemonade, and Watermelon Mint Iced Tea.
